The "Barefootin' for Haiti" Golf Classic has been supporting orphans in Haiti for several years.
Since the tragic 2010 earthquake in Haiti, our focus has been primarily on the Atanies Hope Orphanage for Girls, in Camatin, Haiti [located in the mountains above the southern coastal town of Jacmel].
On January 12, 2010, a 4-year-old little orphan girl named Atanie was killed when the orphanage she called home collapsed on top of her in the quake. Shortly thereafter, AtaniesHope.org was formed . . .
a collaborative effort of groups, individuals, churches, businesses and civic organizations based primarily in the Knoxville area, who came together to help these orphans & communities begin to rebuild their lives.
